Our default engagement begins with one to two weeks of paid discovery. During that time we map user journeys, document every third-party integration, audit any existing code, and produce a written scope with milestones, deliverables, and a fixed or capped budget. You own everything we produce. The GitHub repository lives under your organization. Domains, hosting accounts, vendor subscriptions, and API credentials are provisioned in your name. We document every password, service, and integration in a handover runbook that makes it possible to revoke our access in under fifteen minutes and keep operating the software with any competent Next.js or React engineer. There is no proprietary framework to lift out, no lock-in, no hostage situation.

Compliance and security are designed in from the first sprint. Every project ships with TLS everywhere, secrets stored in a real vault, automated OWASP Top-10 checks in CI, dependency vulnerability scanning, audit logging on sensitive routes, and least-privilege access across every cloud account. For regulated industries we build to the applicable standard — HIPAA with BAAs and encryption at rest, SOC 2 readiness with controls and audit trails, GDPR with consent flows and data export, PCI-DSS with tokenization — and we prepare the control evidence your auditor will eventually ask for.

After launch you have three options. Hand everything off to your in-house team with documentation and a two-week overlap so their first week is smooth. Keep us on a fixed monthly retainer for feature work, security patches, and incident response, typically $3k to $15k per month depending on scope. Or pursue a hybrid model where you hire an internal engineering lead and we stay on as a fractional senior team for capacity plus advisory support.
